Absolute Music Services has continued its longstanding work with Dame Evelyn Glennie throughout 2026, providing specialist percussion instruments and equipment for a wide variety of performances and events across the UK.
The year began with engagements in Aberdeen and London during March, followed in May by Listen Up!, The Evelyn Glennie Foundation’s two-week residency at City Lit. The project included an exhibition exploring listening through sound, vibration and touch, together with an in-the-round listening experience led by Dame Evelyn and featuring the City Lit Percussion Orchestra.
In August, our instruments travelled to the Royal Albert Hall for Dame Evelyn’s Late Night Prom with the Fantasia Orchestra, part of the 2026 BBC Proms. The performance continued Dame Evelyn’s remarkable association with the Proms, more than three decades after her historic first appearance there as a percussion concerto soloist.
September has brought further performances, including ReConnection with harpist Catrin Finch at Hidden Notes Festival in Stroud, before this weekend’s Great British Harvest Festival in Bury St Edmunds.
